Candace Thompson, M.D.

Dr. Candace Thompson is a graduate of Grambling State University and Meharry Medical College and is a board certified family medicine physician having completed post-graduate residency at John Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, IL. She is a Mississippi native who joins the Quinn Health team after three years of family medicine practice at Chicago’s Sengstacke Clinic of Provident Hospital and is very passionate about preventative health. Dr. Thompson is especially interested in vulnerable populations. As a family physician, she thoroughly understands these communities and brings compassion and relatability to patient care. She is involved in ongoing mammogram research/initiatives and has also completed research related to health policy with a focus on safety net hospitals, obesity intervention and renal cancer sensitization to TRAIL-mediated apoptosis.

Dr. Thompson’s training reflects her passion for women’s and adolescents’ health; preventative health; and how the advances of clinical research can help patients in real time. Using shared decision making and a step-wise approach with patients, Dr. Thompson is able to help patients set and meet their health goals.
